Sorry I haven’t updated the blog in a while, been very busy at work and life. I kind of let things get out of balance a little, and really needed to re-adjust. I still have things I’m doing outside of game development that are very important in my life.
HOWEVER. As of today, the next milestone is completed! There is a brand new weapon system backend, and I’ve implemented a few new weapons. For my brother Kageichi, I’ve added his favorite skill from Path of Exile, Righteous Fire. Although here we call it the PDS (Personal Defense System) — it is a point blank AoE that will pulse on a timer out from the player and damage anything close by. It starts off small, but gains size and power through each level until it becomes a force to be reckoned with.
Secondly, thanks to my close friend SlowDesolation, I’ve added the ROCKET HAMMER. Yeah, I needed to type it in all caps, because it’s just THAT cool. You throw it from the player, it finds a target, hits it, and bounces to other targets another time or two before finally making its way back to the player, damaging all those who dare set foot in it’s destructive path. You will gain multiple projectiles and more bounces as you level the hammer up.
Anyway, that’s just a small sample of what’s to come. We have some great concept art being worked on right now, as well as all original music and some new amazing sprite work! Finally, I have contracted a professional artist to design the Steam Library artwork, and that should be done by the 11th of November! I’ll have the page up as soon as the initial new sprite work has been completed and replace my own dumpy assets.
It’s been a crazy few weeks, and I still have to fight off frequent bouts of imposter syndrome, but it’s really happening, and it feels great to have a full team of people who are excited for this project and to create a game together. Once the pieces come together and the steam page is setup, I’ll officially launch the website and share a lot of art with everyone.
