The Tension and the Terror

So this post is a little late, and I’m sorry. I went on vacation Friday, which is my normally scheduled posting date.

I went down to Portland this weekend to hang with my friends, Rob and Jess. Checked out a Scandinavian Midsummer Festival as well as a few waterfalls up in the Columbia River Gorge. All in all, it was a great time.

Game development stuff is going pretty well — This week I’m focusing on fleshing out the game design document  a bit more. Just needed to get some of my concept work out so the team knows progress is being made.

It’s pretty cool so far. I’m not much of a modeler/animator, so What’s in the game right now feels kind of clunky and slow, but I mean, the controls are solid so far, the camera works, and the Combo Point system feels smooth. Progress!

I’m sort of nervous, cause except for a few people, I’m not hearing much from the rest of the team, but to be fair, there’s not a whole lot the animators/modelers can do quite yet, not until we have some more concept art and the world building is fleshed out a bit more. I do love the direction it is going in, and I have some brilliant people behind it. So yay!

I can tell you something, this year has been a whole new world to me. I’ve been struggling for years to stop getting in the way of my dreams, and to stifle the voice in the back of my mind that constantly tells me I’m not good enough. Each one of you who checks in on me, asks me about my adventures, my game development work, or my progress in life and health, it keeps me going, and it helps me to stand up to the automatic negative thoughts that have clouded my mind for as long as I remember.

Hope everyone had a good week!
